At Your Door Our Trails Around and About

At your doorstep ...

Billie Bear has something for everyone. Whether you want to be out on the lake all day, playing some beach volleyball or just lying in the sun -- Billie Bear has what you need to make your vacation exactly what you want it to be!

The Beach

The focus of our 800 feet of shoreline on clear, pristine Bella Lake is our swimming area, with sandy beach (and a collection of sand toys), children’s roped swim area, diving raft, and sundeck. Sit under the trees or in the sun, swim and play in the water, or explore the lake in one of our watercraft. Swings and beach volleyball are right there.

Our watercraft

Our kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, and ever-popular stand-up paddle boards are included in your cottage experience. You’ll find paddles and life jackets for both children and adults in “Bear Cub,” right by the shore.

Motor boats are available for rental to those who have a valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card. Rates are $80 per day or $300 per week, including gas. Enquire at the office!

Guests bringing their own boats may use our boat launch free of charge. Please note that personal water craft (PWC) are not permitted. [top]

Our sports facilities

Sports at Billie Bear are of the casual, pick-up variety, whether organized by guests or by staff as part of our daily kids’ program. We have a variety of complimentary sports equipment – for tennis, badminton, baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, croquet, ball hockey, shuffleboard, and ping pong. Our large sports field is complemented by a paved tennis court (that also serves for hockey and basketball), a beach volleyball court, and of course our watercraft and swimming facilities. [top]

Our family program

During July and August, our staff run daily activities – an hour each morning and afternoon – for kids and families, including water sports and games, crafts, volleyball and soccer, races, contests, hikes, and scavenger hunts, all tied to the theme of the week. Pick up the schedule at the office, and don’t forget to get your official Billie Bear Passports! Our Office

[top]

Bring any questions or problems to Billie Bear’s front desk in our office – hours are posted on the door. (For a problem or emergency after hours, staff members are available in the Staff House.) Drop into the office to check on the movies and activities for the day, to get information on local attractions, or to browse our store for Billie Bear souvenirs. We have T-shirts, sweatshirts, track pants, mugs, and a number of other items.

Our store also carries milk, pop and juice, some drugstore and grocery items, candy, and ice-cream treats.

Some artefacts from Billie Bear’s past are on display (there are more pictures in the Rec Hall and Court House), and you’re invited to look through Billie’s Nature Scrapbook (flora and fauna of the area) and our albums of pictures and stories from Camp Billie Bear’s past.
