Around and About . . .

Whether at Billie Bear or exploring the surrounding area, you’ll always find something of interest. We are close to Algonquin and Arrowhead Provincial Parks as well as a number of interesting shops and galleries in the town of Huntsville and near the village of Dwight. Golf and horseback riding are nearby.

Our nature trails circle small Jackson Lake, the home of beaver and muskrat, while Ragged Falls and the Oxtongue Rapids, off highway 60 towards Algonquin Park, offer more rugged walks along the Oxtongue River.

In Huntsville, you’ll find groceries and laundry services, as well as beer and liquor stores. There’s a farmers’ market at the Huntsville and District Agricultural Society Fairgrounds, 407 Ravenscliffe Road, every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Don’t forget the picturesque villages of Dwight (which also has grocery and liquor stores), Dorset and Baysville, all a short drive from Billie Bear.
